F-7 Star Struck

I finished this block last night while watching Canadian Idol.

Today I took a pigma pen and wrote the letter and number of the block on the back in a seam in very small writing. I think I read somewhere that someone else was doing that. Good idea - for assembling the quilt 10 years from now! Although I am moving along fairly well. This is block number 35 for me.

I've done that - I've made this block, and I write in the seam. Hopefully the color never seeps out anywhere. I also have a spreadsheet that updates the number of pieces I have done and the date I completed each block. Unfortunately I haven't made any blocks in more than a year.

there's a neat idea! I keep track with other means, but I think its kinda neat for the history of your quilt!

Nice block!

Somehow I missed that you had a DJ blog as well. I, too, am working on a DJ between a zillion other projects. I have been tracking them simply with a checkmark on a piece of paper. Maybe writing it in the seam allowance is better. I think I've decided that I am going to do my DJ blocks between snowball blocks of something yet to be determined.

You also mentioned Cranbrook, BC. What a really lovely little town. I was just there this past week. We were driving from Waterton, west on Hwy. 3, on our way back to Washington state. Really so lovely.

I've been wanting to do a Dear Jane quilt for over 4 years now. I was already to go and joined a local DJ group thinking they would be my inspiration and would help me. It was a group of very nasty and rude women and my desire was lost. I'll be watching you, Pam, your blocks are beautiful.

I mark the blocks with a tiny piece of freezer paper. Iron it a section that includes the main fabric (which is off-white for me) and mark it with a pencil. You can see examples at my blog.
